Crystal Snowflake

My friend Linn found a video tutorial for this crystal snowflake. We were supposed to get together to make some, but Ole Man Winter interfered. This is my snowflake with light azore 4mm and 6 mm Swarovski crystals and aqua seed beads. You can find the tutorial at: http://www.jewelrymakingprofessor.com/j75nfj39jg0wj.html free until 12/31/2009.

CHRISTMAS CONTEST

I have entered a Christmas drawing at http://www.beadwork-supplies.com/index.html. I entered one of my beaded cabachons, I call it my poor bailless cab as I just can't decide what I want to do with it. It is a beautiful paperweight!

Terri's Circle of Light Pendant

I did this one for Terri at my office. She gave me a beautiful druisy pendant I had admired. The colors I chose for the circle pendant reflect the colors I saw in the druisy. And opal is Terri's birthstone, so that was a good reason to use the white opal crystals around the edge.

Mom's Circle of Light Pendant

I made this for Mom while visiting her on our vacation in Hollister, Missouri. We had a great time, although I didn't get to do as much beading as I would have liked. We caught the show SIX in Branson and visited Dogwood Canyon where we took a two hour tram tour through the canyon, saw waterfalls, and up into a pasture where they keep deer, bison, elk and Texas longhorn. Mom and I took a day to do bead shopping and lunch in Springfield.

Whirl Wind Continues

I just had another wild week. I took a class at Beadazzler Beads in Overland Park, Kansas on Tuesday, making a beautiful Circle of Light Pendant in lovely shades of pink. I have not been able to get a perfect picture yet. We had our family reunion over the past weekend. I made another Circle of Light Pendant in Turquoise, Dark Red Coral and Jet Black Swarovski for my "Aunt" Kathy. Hopefully she will send me a picture of that, it was gorgeous, with a silver Bali type bead in the center. I will be teaching an embroidered cabochon class at Beadazzler on Saturday, just typed a draft of instruction sheets.

Plum Blossom Bracelet

The pattern for this lovely bracelet was created by my good friend, Carolyn DeGroff. I used amethyst fire polish Czech glass, and size 8 silver lined light amethyst beads along with size 11 transparent light amethyst AB seed beads.

Teaching a bead class

I taught my first "commercial" or paid bead class yesterday. It ended up being a private class as the second student did not show up. The class was a square stitch bracelet embellished with dagger beads. I was very happy with the progress. She nearly completed her bracelet and did not have any concerns at all about being able to finish on her own. She said she will be making more for Christmas presents, that delighted me, yes!

Quite a week

I have had quite a week. I interviewed with a local bead shop to teach off-loom weaving classes and set 3 dates. Now for students!

Saturday, I had an appointment with D'Marie Gallery (& espresso bar, yum!) in Paola, Kansas. I took many pieces of my jewelry and left a LUCKY 13 behind on commission. The Gallery begins a new exhibit on June 20, and I am invited to attend as an artist.
