Almost another month gone by. This time the Blog Hop sponsored by Lisa Lodge of Pine Ridge Treasures is entitled "Gentle Spring".

I received a generous sampling of shades of lavender and purple along with silver toned findings to work with.

Oh, and some hemp cord I will use another day!

I asked my friend Lisa Knappenberger if she had any general thoughts on what I should do and she said "Dangles".  I really enjoyed working with these beads and especially like the kind of periwinkle lavender sea glass beads.

Completed necklace and earrings and the toggle with silver beads I added to obtain the length needed for the second strand

Close up to show you the cute little flower

The bracelet is still floating along in my poor little head!

Ceramic Blog Hop

Here I am again. This time I am participating in a Ceramic Blog Hop sponsored by Lisa Lodge of Pine Ridge Treasures. I purchased this kit knowing it would contain some ceramic beads as well as other materials to work with.  My focal bead is this cute little owl. He has a couple of friends to hang out with, as well as ceramic beads, metal beads. I also received a nice strand  of small white glass pearls.

So I started playing around, moving
the beads around a bit....

Here are my completed necklace and earrings.

And a simple strung bracelet. I had been wanting a pearl bracelet, so I made one using memory wire, with a dangle at the end

Here I am, just finished my pieces for the Pine Ridge Treasures Summer Waters blog hop yesterday. Only two weeks late. It was quite the journey of starts, stops, lost elements, re-thinks and adding just a little bit more. I hope you like my necklace, bracelet and earrings set. Summer Waters Blog Hop

I am busy working on a blog hop using a lovely bead kit purchased from Lisa Lodge of Pine Ridge Treasures. I have sea glass in blues and aqua along with white pearls. I was beading along on my first idea using one item, when it went airborne. Have not found it, am venturing off in a slightly different direction. Hope to have some photos posted tomorrow on the reveal date.

I am having technical issues. Will try again Sunday.

Saturday, August 31, 2013

I have not been beading alot lately.  On the 4th of July I tripped on my driveway and fractured my right wrist in two places.  I was in a hand to elbow splint for about a week, a long arm cast over 4 weeks and a short arm cast a week.  Two weeks ago I graduated to an as needed wrist spint and have been going to occupational therapy twice a week.  The therapist is very happy with my progress.  He says I should expect pain at least 9 months to a year.  I was off work over 6 weeks, not allowed to drive.  What a relief when I was able to drive again!

I have been working on Kumihimo project for class I took at KC Bead Society Bead Blast in May, stuck again!!! Guess I will have to work on some of those UFO's, of which I have many!

Looking back, I attended a bead retreat with the KC Bead Society in May at Cedar Crest Lodge in Pleasanton, Kansas.  Our instructor was the delightful Melanie Potter.  I actually managed to finish one of the projects  before the June Bead Society meeting.   This is my bracelet Melanie calls Serrated Cuff.
